How Firearm Shipping Works

Federal law requires that all firearms be shipped to and transferred through a licensed Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) dealer. Ready Rifle does not ship firearms directly to customers.

When you place an order with Ready Rifle, here is what happens:

  • We locate the closest qualified FFL dealer to your billing address
  • We contact the dealer directly, verify they accept incoming transfers, and confirm the transfer fee
  • Your firearm ships from Ready Rifle directly to your approved local FFL dealer
  • We notify you when your firearm arrives and provide full pickup instructions
  • You visit the dealer, complete the required Form 4473 background check, pay the transfer fee, and take ownership of your firearm

Shipping Cost

Shipping to your local FFL dealer is always free. Ready Rifle covers all shipping costs on every order within the United States and US territories where legally permitted.

The transfer fee charged by your local FFL dealer is separate from shipping and is not collected by Ready Rifle. We confirm the exact transfer fee with your dealer before finalizing your order so there are no surprises.

Estimated Delivery Timeline

After your order is placed, Ready Rifle coordinates your local FFL dealer and processes your shipment. Typical timeline from order to arrival at your local FFL dealer is 5–10 business days.

Please note this timeline may vary depending on your location, FFL dealer availability, and carrier conditions. We will keep you informed throughout the process and notify you the moment your firearm arrives at your dealer.

Where We Ship

Ready Rifle ships to all US states and territories where our products are legally permitted, including:

  • All 50 United States
  • US Territories where legally permitted — contact us to confirm eligibility for your location

We do not ship internationally.

State-Specific Restrictions

Firearm laws vary by state. Some states have restrictions on magazine capacity, specific firearm features, or other requirements. Ready Rifle is committed to full legal compliance in every state we serve.

If your state requires adjustments to your order — such as reduced-capacity magazines — we will make those adjustments and notify you of exactly what changed and why before your order ships. You will never receive a package that does not comply with your state's laws.

If we are unable to legally fulfill your order in your state, we will contact you promptly and issue a full refund.

FFL Transfer Fee

The transfer fee is a charge collected by your local FFL dealer — not by Ready Rifle — for receiving and processing your firearm. This fee typically ranges from $20–$50 depending on the dealer.

Ready Rifle confirms the exact transfer fee with your dealer before sending you their information. You will know the fee before you walk in. Transfer fees are paid directly to the dealer at the time of pickup and are non-refundable.

Order Tracking

Once your firearm ships, you will receive tracking information via email. Ready Rifle monitors all shipments and will proactively notify you of any delays or issues. When your firearm arrives at your FFL dealer, we will email you immediately with dealer contact information, hours, and pickup instructions.
